Let’s work together to shape St. Albert’s future!

It takes a community and every step counts

Amanda has lived in and around St. Albert since she was nine years old. She is a proud Cree Métis woman, and even prouder mom to her four sons, her dog Tucker and her cat Orange Julius.

She is the founding organizer of the July 1st Run-Walk for Reconciliation in St. Albert. This annual event raises awareness surrounding Canadian Residential Schools and the children who attended them.

Amanda's background includes history as a sales consultant and a licensed insurance agent. Her career shifted to the non-profit sector as she began coordinating programs for youth and seniors, as well as training & implementing mentorship programs for Indigenous youths across Alberta.

Inspired by the community and the people of the City she is proud to call home, Amanda made the choice to run for a City Councilor in 2025. She is passionate about shaping St. Albert's future ---and would love to speak to YOU!

About Amanda

Community Outreach

Each year, Amanda can be found volunteering at various community events like the Fire & Ice Festival, St. Albert Pride, the Coldest Night of the Year Walk for Bissell Centre, and Métis Week events. She sat on the 2024 Planning Committee for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Event held on Orange Shirt Day, September 30th, in St. Albert.

In 2021, Amanda founded the inaugural Annual July 1st Run-Walk for Reconciliation, also known as RunRemRec, in St. Albert. This event raises awareness surrounding Canadian Residential Schools and donations for charities that support Residential School survivors. Each year, the event attracts over 400 participants from across the Edmonton region.

In 2025, the RunRemRec team founded the non-profit Kisakihikawin St. Albert Society. In Cree, Kisakihikawin means "You Are Loved". The Society aims to grow and support Indigenous initiatives in our community.

For her passionate work and grassroots action, she was awarded the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Medal in 2022. She is also a recipient of a 2025 International Women's Day award presented by the St. Albert Interfaith Connections.

Amanda believes a community is made up of diverse voices and backgrounds -- and won't shy away from difficult conversations with people from all walks of life.
